Why Christ came at Christmas, translated from Revelations of Divine Love by Julian of Norwich

Prayers from Revelations of Divine Love

Translated from Revelations of Divine Love Julian of Norwich
Why Christ came at Christmas--

Lord, Jesus, in you we can behold the immense yearning and will of all humanity who are ready to be redeemed: for you Lord Saviour are all who are going to be redeemed and all who are to be redeemed are you. This is imparted by you Lord God, and, through our undertaking, reverence, meekness, persistence and other righeousness.

Lord, you have shown that after our Lord Jesus had fallen into the virgin's womb he could never ascend once more in all his dominion until his humanity had been destroyed and had expired. He then had to submit his soul into your dominion Lord; alongside with all humanity to whom he had been sent.

Lord, you have shown that our Lord Jesus Christ now sits on the illustrious throne which he creted in your heavenly abode to his total contentment, with inestimable honour upon his head. Lord, you have shown that humanity is his crowning honour, and that hisi honour is your bliss, the Son's exaltation, the Holy Spirit's rapture, and the eternal joy of all the company of heaven.
